A family was stunned when two sisters simultaneously became pregnant with identical twins.
Megan O’Brien, 29, gave birth to Lilah and Josie on November 21, 2016, and her sister Sara Seyler, 32, gave birth to Lennon and Parker in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, three months later. Both women were completely surprised by their twin pregnancies, as twins do not occur in their families.

This ‘perfect synchronicity’ also resulted in the birth of twins. Sara explained that she was initially hesitant to inform Megan she was pregnant because she had already given birth and did not want to’steal the thunder’ from Megan’s first child. However, the couple admitted that they enjoyed experiencing pregnancy together. Sara was expecting her son before I was, but I was typically three months ahead of her when I was expecting twins.
Matt, Megan’s spouse, is a triplet, but there was no indication Megan would have twins, let alone twins with her sister Sarah. Megan recalled the moment she learned her sister would also be expecting twins: “My jaw fell.
“Tears welled up in my eyes because there are no twins in our family.” It was so amazing that she, too, was expecting twins.
Megan was at a bachelorette celebration for a friend on the day her sister received the news – during her first ultrasound. “When I answered the FaceTime call, Sara was sobbing, and I thought, “Oh my god, what’s wrong?”
She then displays the ultrasound image that depicts twins. The Doylestown, Pennsylvania siblings explained that their simultaneous pregnancies were purely coincidental.
“When I told her I was pregnant, I reached out to her and apologized,” Sara continued. “I offered effusive apologies. Since she was expecting her first child, and as you are aware, I had just given birth to my first child, we exchanged congratulations.

Megan claimed she had a “really easy” pregnancy, but at 32 weeks she thought, “This is terrible.” “It was a lot on my body,” she stated.
Unlike her sister, Sara acknowledges that her first trimester of pregnancy was “terrible” due to illness. She stated, “My first trimester was dreadful due to this terrible disease.” However, my second trimester was fantastic. I felt quite fine throughout. Megan’s daughters, Lilah (at 1.33am, weighing 4lbs 14oz) and Josie (at 1.34am, weighing 4lbs 6oz), were born on November 21, 2021 at Doylestown Hospital, Pennsylvania.
Sara’s children were also born healthy, Lennon (at 7.31pm, weighing 5lbs 11oz) and Parker (at 7.32pm, weighing 4lbs 5oz) were born on February 8, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pennsylvania.
